On the outside the loudspeakers impress with their appealing bi-color design in five trendy deco variations, acoustically-neutral fabric covers, and the slender baffle.
This is made possible among others by the new cross-over frequency, which is designed to operate in harmony with the rear-facing bass reflex vent.
High performance woofers and agile midrange speakers with aluminum membranes ensure maximum range, high sound pressure and the well-balanced sound that is the hallmark of the GLE Series. The high-precision aluminium-manganese tweeter system is embedded in the transmission front plates.

Connection options and functions
The GLE 496.2 Active BT Set works according to the master / slave principle. The master in this case is the speaker with the display in the front and the amplifier electronics and a Speakon jack on the back of the case. The slave speaker is the speaker without an integrated display in the front and with a Speakon jack on the back of the case. The master in your stereo setup is the left speaker, the slave is the right speaker. In addition to 3 HDMI inputs (with 3D, 4K) and one HDMI output (with ARC), the GLE 496.2 Active BT Active System has an optical digital input, a coaxial digital input and an analog RCA input. If required, an external subwoofer can be operated via the Sub-Out output. The speaker system can be controlled by its own or the remote control of your TV. All remote control functions of the GLE 496.2 Active BT can be trained in a few steps on the remote control codes of the TV set. That means: two devices, one remote control.
Thanks to the Bluetooth® interface and easy-pairing function, the Active Set also conquers the world of smartphones and tablet PCs. As a high-quality Bluetooth® speaker, it ensures the lossless transmission via apt-X® technology.
